Partners Blend a Conference Vision
By Pegge McGuire, Community Resources Division Administrator

When the complexities of the October 6-8 conference in Salem are viewed through magnifying glass or microscope, you see a remarkable event in the making.

Looking back, the Community Action Partnership of Oregon has held an annual Poverty Conference and Oregon Housing and Community Services has held a Housing Conference.

This year we are combining our energies to create something new in recent memory, consolidating our conference planning with a host of partners. They are:
  • Community Action Partnership of Oregon (CAPO)
  • The Oregon Opportunity Network (formerly CDN/AOCDO)
  • The Hunger Relief Task Force
  • Neighborhood Partnership Fund
  • Oregon Housing Alliance
  • Community Partners for Affordable Housing

Together, we are packaging a three-day conclave that highlights some of the most forward-thinking concepts in community services and affordable housing, delivered by some of the finest minds in America.

We believe the positive spirit of our theme, "Creating Opportunities to Thrive," reflects the combined values and spirit of each organization.

We hope you will join us for this exciting event at the Salem Conference Center in early October. Please visit our conference web page.
